Yung Joc Speaks on Cincinnati Shooting Says T.I. Tried To Make Peace
Block/Bad Boy Entertainment rapper Yung Joc appeared on an Atlanta radio station Wednesday (May 3) to set the record straight regarding a recent shooting that left one member of Atlanta rapper T.I.'s entourage dead and three others wounded. Joc, who was on the road with T.I. and with him at the time of the shooting, appeared on Atlanta's V-103 FM to tell on-air host Ryan Cameron and fans what happened. According to Joc, T.I. was a peacemaker in the incident and tried to diffuse the situation. Joc also said the group is still coping with the tragedy and has yet to return to Atlanta. He further stated that in no way did T.I. have anything to do with the violence. V-103 changed its traditional format Wednesday in order to field calls from listeners. The discussion comes in the aftermath of the fatal shooting of Philant Johnson. The 25-year-old died Tuesday (May 2) after an altercation at a T.I./Young Joc concert after-party in Cincinnati. Gunfire was exchanged as two dark SUV's chased the rapper's van on Interstate 75, where the van blew a tire and came to a stop. Johnson was killed, while two members of the rapper's entourage suffered minor wounds. One woman remains hospitalized. T.I. suffered no injuries. Although Cincinnati police have not taken anyone into custody, they are interviewing several witnesses and are working to get people to cooperate in the investigation. Atlantic Records expressed its grief over the tragedy today (May 4) via the following statement: "This is a very sad day for everyone at Atlantic Records and Grand Hustle. Philant Johnson was a part of our family and a true friend. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Johnson family, T.I. and everyone at Grand Hustle."

Jimmy 'Henchmen' Rosemond Sentenced to Three Years Unsupervised Probation

Czar Entertainment CEO Jimmy "Henchmen" Rosemond was sentenced Tuesday (June 6) to three years of unsupervised probation and fined $2,500 for his role in an incident involving a Washington disc jockey.

Several of Rosemond's supporters, including his business partner Bryce Wilson, Queen Latifah, Flavor Unit's Shakim Compere, Czar Entertainment staff, close friends, and family, were present as the decision was handed down.

The judgment marks the latest chapter in months of litigation concerning the case.

"The judge's decision to place Mr. Rosemond on unsupervised probation was in recognition that he is and continues to be a positive influence within the community," said Rosemond's attorneys Scott Srebnick and William Brennan. "We are thankful that the judge saw this case for what it was."

Rosemond, who manages rapper the Game, was found guilty earlier this year of beating 93.9 WKYS-FM on-air personality Xzulu "The Big Lipped Bandit" during an appearance with the Compton MC in Lanham, Md.

According to reports, the incident was sparked when Xzulu allegedly made an off-color remark about Henchmen's cell phone headset during an interview to promote Game's debut album The Documentary.

Police said a group of men, including Game, confronted Xzulu shortly after the interview and kicked and beat him. The DJ was later taken to an area hospital with serious internal injuries.

Although Game was formally charged with assault and battery, charges were later dropped against the lyricist, but not Rosemond, who was sought on misdemeanor assault charges.

DMX Stopped for Reckless Driving...Again

Dark Man X is back in the news for his reckless driving antics. Last Friday, DMX (born Earl Simmons) was pulled over in White Plains, New York for driving his 2001 Chevy Suburban at unreasonable speeds and making dangerous lane changes. Police also found that X was not wearing a seat belt, and did not have a driver's license. The 35-year-old rapper was ticketed and told to come to court on June 16.

Last year, DMX violated his parole during a 2004 incident in which he claimed he was an undercover FBI agent and allegedly attempted to steal a car. A week after he pleaded guilty in court for the 'impersonation' incident, X was caught driving over 100 mph in North Castle, Westchester County.

But, driving is not X's only problem with transportation. Last month, he was arrested in London after allegedly becoming abusive on a plane and refusing to put on his seat belt. I move for Dark Man X to go ahead and implement that name change plan he's been talking about. Otherwise, it'll only be a couple of weeks before he gets pulled over for speeding on sea.
